Transition 2022
Transition from primary to secondary school can be an exciting time for many Year 6 pupils.
The opportunity to experience new subjects, new activities and make new friends at a bigger school is often met with great enthusiasm. At Queen Elizabeth School we understand that whilst most pupils feel this way, some may feel nervous and anxious at the thought of starting at a new school.
That is why we have developed our transition programme, to ensure all our new starters feel supported in their transition journey and that it goes as smoothly as possible.
Please see below for more information on the opportunities that are on offer for you and your child to find out more about life at QES and for us to get to know your child, long before their first day.

QES IN ACTION AFTERNOON - TUESDAY 24 MARCH 2026
As part of our unique transition programme, we would like to invite you and your child to our ‘QES in Action Afternoon’ on Tuesday 24 March 2026 between 4.00 pm - 5.30 pm. This will provide your child with the opportunity to enjoy various sessions to meet with key members of staff, their future classmates and other families joining the school. Meanwhile, it will also give you the opportunity to hear from the Senior Leadership Team and other key transition staff to ask any questions you may have about life at QES.
