Safeguarding
Safeguarding at QES
At QES we take the health, safety and well-being of every child as our number one priority.
We ensure all staff, governors, and volunteers equally share this commitment to safeguarding our students.
We listen to our students and take seriously what they tell us. Our aim is that our students feel safe and flourish during their time with us.
All staff working within the school are trained in safeguarding, our pastoral team are also trained up to level 3 safeguarding and child protection. We are proud that we have created a culture that ensures the students feel safe to speak to an adult with any concerns they may have.
Our staff are all trained to be aware and spot the signs of abuse and are proactive in reporting these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
As a school we follow all guidelines set out in the Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2024 (KCSIE 2024) framework.
Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024
Our aim is to work in partnership alongside parents and carers to help our students reach their full potential.
On rare occasions however, our concern about a student may mean that we have to consult other agencies before we contact parents or carers, this is to ensure that the student’s safety and wellbeing is paramount and in line with both the schools’ policies and procedures, the governments KCSIE framework and procedures set out by the Luton Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB).

Social media and the internet are hugely popular with many of our students, they use these in various different formats.
At QES we teach students about the importance of staying safe and keeping themselves safe online, however social media, like all forms of public communication, comes with risks.
Not all of these risks turn into actual problems. By helping your child understand what the risks are, you can play a big part in preventing them from turning into problems.
Below are a number of internet sites that provide useful information on how to keep your child safe on the internet, and on the use of social media.
