Gold!
We are ecstatic to announce that we have achieved the Gold School Games Mark award for our commitment and engagement in the School Games for 2021/22.
The School Games Mark, facilitated by the Youth Sports Trust, is a government-led initiative programme designed to keep competitive sport at the heart of schools and provide more young people with the opportunity to compete and achieve their personal best.
To achieve the gold accolade, we had to meet the highest standards for criteria including:
- Participation - how many young people at your school are being engaged in sporting activity?
- Competition - how many different sports are being played and how many competitions are being entered?
- Workforce - how many pupils are involved in leadership activities alongside taking part in competitions?
- Clubs - how many local links does your school have with clubs or establishments from the area?
Mr Antcliff, Subject Leader for PE said:
We are proud that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded. Our sports provision is exceptional here at QES. From netball and rugby to gymnastics and athletics, there is something on offer for the complete beginner or elite athlete. Our offer is enhanced even further through our unique partnerships with organisations such as the Juventus Football Academy and Luton Wicketz Hub.
