Tuesday 12 July 2022 Luton Town Track and Field Competition Results! On Friday 1st of July we took over 45 students from year7 to 11 to take part in the Luton Secondary Schools' Track and Field Town Sports Competition, with the school coming 4th in Luton overall! Our Lower Junior team came 6th, our Junior team came 9th and our Intermediate team finished 2nd overall!

Wednesday 30 March 2022 Success for Year 10 Boys Football! The team progressed from a narrow loss against Lealands High School in their first match to winning games with impressive scores of 6-2 and 9-2! Unfortunately they gaveaway a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 with Vandyke Upper School in their final match, meaning Vandyke won the league title.

Wednesday 30 March 2022 A fantastic football season for our Year 7 & 8 Girls This season the girls in Years 7 and 8 have played superbly together and have shown true determination and resilience. They have won 4 out of their 5 games which is an incredible achievement. As the girls do not have a regular goalkeeper they have been taking it in turns to go in goal across the games they have played and there have been some fantastic saves made!

Saturday 19 March 2022 Collaboration with Farley Junior Academy! On Friday 18th March, staff from Queen Elizabeth School were privilegedto be invited to Farley Junior Academy to deliver some exciting science lessons to the whole school as part of British Science Week. The lessons were expertly planned and delivered by Miss Cornwall to more than 300 students, who were keen to learn more about magnetic fields and also made mini motors.

Tuesday 22 February 2022 Next Generation Youth Theatre Today, Year 8 and Year 9 were extremely lucky to watch a performance on county lines, performed by the Next Generation Youth Theatre. The production and cast were amazing and really opened the doors to educating QES students on the dangers of exploitation and county lines.

Wednesday 2 February 2022 What have Year 7 been up to in Art? This term students have been studying artists includingKehinde Wiley, William Morris and Van Gogh and have been inspired to create andmount their own portraits and then develop these onto backgrounds the same way that the artists have done.

Wednesday 2 February 2022 25th Anniversary Challenge Over 50 of our enthusiastic Year 7 and 8 students participated in a special edition of UK Maths Challenge that took place on Tuesday 25th January.The challenge consisted of a 45-minute, multiple-choice online activity.

Tuesday 1 February 2022 Holocaust Memorial Day To mark Holocaust Memorial Day on Thursday27th January inthe Learning Resource Centre, our school book groupfocussed on books about the Holocaust. Students were given stickers and booklets from the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust and discussed how the Holocaust is presented in fiction. We were also delighted to welcome the History Department tojoin ourbook group last week and the remaining booklets and materials were given to the History department for distribution.

Monday 17 January 2022 Inter-House Cross Country It is definitely cross country season, with the PE Department’s first Inter-House competition of the Spring! Between Monday 10th and Friday 14th January 2022, students across the school ran their allocated distance (1.6km for Year 7, 2.6km for Year 8 and 9, and 3km for Year 10 and 11) in the bid to win house points. Everyone was awarded one house point for participating and the first 10 runners achieved additional house points depending on where they placed.

Monday 17 January 2022 Cross Country Success The PE Department took 47 cross country runners from across Year 7 to Year 11 to the Luton School Games Cross Country Competition on Thursday 13th January 2022. Now you would probably associate cross country with the cold, wind, rain and mud, but this was not the case for our lucky students. The conditions on the day were sunny with a temperature of around 9ºC…some would say perfect running conditions! What’s more, our students’ determination to compete and the camaraderie amongst the whole team was very impressive indeed. They achieved some outstanding results and did QES proud!
